The Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort in Denarau is only 9kms outside of Nadi, so it’s a perfect resort for your time in Fiji. With all the mod-cons and luxuries you’d expect from a Sheraton resort, alongside the customer service and passion of the Fijian people – we had a fantastic short break in Fiji on our way home from Australia and New Zealand.

Sheraton Fiji, Denarau (near Nadi)
Denarau Island is located only 15 minutes from Nadi and is known as the beating heart of Fiji tourism. The island consists of a residential area, the South Pacific’s premier 18 hole golf course, Port Denarau Marina, the country’s largest collection of single boutiques, bars, restaurants, spa’s and activities. Along with nine world-renowned hotels – including the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort.
Denarau Island is perfect for a stopover in Fiji as it has a wide variety of amenities on your doorstep. For a longer stay, Port Denarau Marina is the gateway to exploring the famous islands of Fiji’s Mamanuca and Yasawa chains. All of the hotels on Denarau are connected by sidewalks making access easy to explore restaurants and shops in all areas of the island.
Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort Amenities
Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort is located next to Sheraton Denarau Villas. Providing guests with four restaurants, 24 hour room service, multiple pool options (including an infinity pool and lagoon style pools), a spa and an array of activities.
An exciting schedule of activities and events is organized for guests daily. You have the opportunity to participate in cultural ceremonies, water sports, beach games, kids activities, masterclasses, entertainment and more during your stay! During our stay Payton had the opportunity to participate in many of these.
Side by Side
Side by side is a kids activity area located on resort. This area includes indoor and outdoor space filled with activities to keep your child entertained throughout your time on resort. This fun and entertaining kids club includes toys, games, a playground, and activities alongside a very friendly staff. It is open daily and additional nanny services are available on request.
Resort Dining
There are three dining options at Sheraton Fiji and one at Sheraton Villas giving guests four options to choose from along with 24 hour a day room service.
What makes the dining extra special is the Sheraton Farm featuring the farm to table experience. This signature experience for guests is part of the Good Travel program. The five-acre farm sits on the periphery of the large integrated playground near the Denarau Golf & Racquet Club. With farm to table concept, herbs and spices are grown organically that guests enjoy during meal times. Guests can enjoy a leisure walk around the farm with our resident Farm Manager for an interactive tour.
Tatavu Grill & Bar
Tatavu translated from Fijian means “open fire grill” and the grill is at the heart of this restaurant. Serving coastal flavors fresh from the open-flame grill, Tatavu provides a chic atmosphere for indoor and outdoor dining. This spirited dining experience embraces the essence of Fiji: water, fire, sand and sky. During dinner guests can enjoy a beautiful sunset with their toes in the sand while listening to live music. The fresh from the grill cuisine paired with the artisan cocktails made for our favorite dining experience on resort. We had the pleasure of meeting the chef during our stay and sampling from his tasting menu which was an extra special treat.
Island 619
Island 619 was the most interesting dining experience as the cuisine changed daily and was served buffet style. We both agreed that this was the most massive buffet we had ever experienced. Station upon station of fresh food – soups, salads, bread, appetizers, entrees, hot and cold foods, plus desserts. All following the theme of the day. Ample seating was available and there was a bar as well serving a full array of beverages. Island 619 serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day and live music with dinner.

28g
28g, located in the lobby, became a part of our daily routine from the moment we entered the resort. Experts in tropical coffee culture, 28g is a daily ritual of layered cafe experiences. From casually curated to exceptional and refined experiences, 28g offers an amazing assortment to choose from. Smoothies, crepes, iced coffees (their speciality), hot coffees, pastries, croissants, sandwiches and desserts are just the beginning. The worst part about 28g is trying to make a decision on what to get.
Wet Edge (Sheraton Denarau Villas)
Located next to the infinity pool with swim up bar and overlooking Nadi Bay’s waterfront is Wet Edge. This restaurant was our favorite for lunch and for a quick bite after lounging in the pool. The views are my favorite as we spent a great deal of time in the infinity pool. We once again had the opportunity to sample from the chef’s tasting menu. We feasted on steak and fries, the fried seafood basket, cauliflower wings (my favorite), baked fish, along with chicken wings and fries. Payton of course had to sample the desserts as well. Everything was very fresh and the service was friendly.
The Resort & Rooms
Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort has been recently renovated and now offers 300 modern rooms and suites. These range from garden view to ocean front along with larger presidential suites. Our room was ocean front, providing captivating views of Nadi Bay and the most amazing sunrises every morning. Since we were ground floor there was also outdoor seating provided making the area even more cozy. Each room was equipped with a mini fridge, coffee pot, and of course, stocked with Fiji water.
Culture & Entertainment on Resort
Each guest is provided with a weekly activity calendar upon checkin. This calendar includes a daily schedule and times of all activities taking place on resort. Payton was able to take part in many of these activities which gave her further insight into the culture of Fiji. Activities included:

- aqua aerobics
- limbo dancing
- watermelon bashing
- cooking class
- coconut bowling
- story telling
- kava tasting
- basket weaving
- hula skirt making
- coconut tasting
- putting clinic
- beach volleyball
Meet the Warriors – Torch Lighting Ceremony
Every evening (weather permitting) there is a meet the warriors event on the beach. This includes traditional dancing, singing and fire dancing with other performances. This show mesmerized Payton every evening. The show was full of energy and entertainment. Before the show each day the warriors light the torches around the resort. Payton had the privilege of joining in this activity on our final evening. The warriors helped her dress up, painted her face and led her around the resort as she lit the torches for the show. It was a fantastic experience that she will never forget.
Excursions from Sheraton Fiji Resort
Because of its location, the Sheraton Fiji Resort is the perfect base location for exploring more of Fiji. Port Denarau Marina is the starting point for many excursions, cruises and tours of the Fijian islands and is located only 5 minutes from the resort. Port Denarau is where we departed from for our day trip to Malamala Beach Club. All other South Sea Cruises leave from this port as well.
Many other excursions, including our favorite one to Sigatoka River, includes pick up from the resorts on Denarau Island. We also attended a cultural performance at the VOU HUB center while visiting Fiji and pickup was included from the Sheraton Fiji.

For a stopover in Fiji the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort is ideal. You get all the sense that you are at a remote resort, surrounded by gorgeous sunsets, palm trees and tranquility; yet you are close to amenities, the airport, and transfers to other islands.
We had such a great time learning about Fiji, enjoying the Sheraton facilities, and soaking up the sunshine – we know this won’t be the last time we visit.
Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort : Review
We were at the tail end of a long and rigorous trip to Australia and New Zealand, so we needed a bit of R&R. We were lucky to be able to enjoy both downtime and excursions from the Sheraton. What struck us was the friendliness of the Fijians, and their passion for sharing their stories and culture. The Sheraton Fiji Resort helped to facilitate these learning opportunities for us.
