Travel Subscription Box : Little Passports for Kids

Whether you homeschool as we do or choose traditional school, I know we can all agree that we want learning to be fun for our kids. We are always searching for new ways to teach Payton in an interactive and hands-on way. Last Christmas, my mom gifted Payton the travel subscription box by Little Passports for kids. There are 4 different subscriptions to choose from:

Early Explorers – Ages 3-5
World Edition – Ages 6-10
USA Edition – Ages 7-12
Science Expeditions – Ages 9+

Due to her age at the time and our interests, my mom chose the World Edition for her!

Little Passports World Edition

The very first subscription comes with the suitcase, passport, and a wall map. We immediately hung the map on the wall in our classroom / office. Each month you receive a kit from a different country.

What’s in the Travel Subscription Box:

• A postcard from the country including a picture of a famous location on the front and a description of the area on the back.
• A letter to your child from the 2 kids that are exploring the country providing a story of their travels, things they have seen, and food they have eaten.
• There is a 4 page activity booklet with fun activities from the country.
• A boarding pass / luggage tag that can be added to the suitcase. On the back of this is the password needed to login to the activity online. Once you receive your first package, you login and create an account for your child. Then, each month, they log in with the new password provided on the back of the boarding pass to unlock new games and activities.
• A sticker to add to the suitcase.
• You get a sticker of the country flag that your child can add to their ‘Little Passport’ passport.
• And a map marker “pin” sticker that they use to mark the country on the wall map.

And there is always something extra as well. In the kit on China, the extras were a pair or chopsticks and an eraser depicting one of the foods discussed in the learning activities!

Adding your own extras to your Little Passports travel subscription box

We like to add our own extras to the learning process. For every country that is received, we try to cook a meal from that country, or add an activity that represents it. This adds another dynamic to the learning process, and is fun for us too!

When learning about Costa Rica, John cooked an authentic Costa Rican meal for dinner. And when learning about Turkey, we enjoyed a Turkish Delight for dessert – yum!
