As the days draw cooler, and the fall holidays come round again, it’s time to enjoy some of these fantastic fall festivals in Georgia!

Labor Day Weekend – Callaway Gardens
Light up your Labor Day weekend with a three day celebration at Callaway Gardens.
Tickets include admission to the gardens, the birds of prey program, Robin Lake Beach, the butterfly center, food and drink specials and holiday merchandise. In addition, each night the sky will light up with the extraordinary hot air balloon glow over Robin Lake Beach followed by a spectacular fireworks show.
These tickets can be purchased online for one, two or three days admission. If you are traveling from out of town you can also add an overnight ticket package that includes on site lodging (3 night minimum for the holiday weekend). This family friendly holiday event is sure to be a great start to September.
Yellow Daisy Festival – Stone Mountain Park
For 53 years the Yellow Daisy Festival has continued to grow. What started out as a small arts and crafts festival has grown to a four day event including more than 300 artists and crafters. Voted one of the top arts and craft shows in the nation you have to see it to believe it.
Access to the Yellow Daisy Festival is included with paid parking admission which is $20 per vehicle per day. Enjoy fabulous food, craft demonstrations and purchase your favorite artwork to take home. This family friendly event takes place at Stone Mountain Park in September each year (September 8th-11th in 2022).
Georgia Mountain Fall Festival – Hiawassee
Located at the Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds this festival includes 9 days of wholesome family fun. Known as the country music capital of Georgia the festival takes place in October each year (running October 7-15 in 2022).
There is daily musical performances and over 70 crafters. The pioneer village provides demonstrations, moonshine still, blacksmiths, soap making and more.
Admission is $12. Parking is free and camping is available. 1311 Music Hall Rd, Hwy 76 W, Hiawassee, GA 30546.
Gold Rush Days – Dahlonega
Over 200,000 visitors join the fun and excitement each year during the Gold Rush Days in Dahlonega. This festival is always held the third full weekend in October so that visitors can enjoy the peak fall colors of north Georgia.
Over 200 art and craft exhibitors and food vendors gather in the Historic District to celebrate Dahlonega’s 1828 discovery of gold. The Gold Rush Days Festival has been voted one of the top 20 events in the southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society.
Georgia Apple Festival – Ellijay
In 2021, the Georgia Apple Festival is celebrating its 50th year. Located at the Ellijay Lions Club Fairground you can expect over 300 vendors with handmade items and many on-site demonstrations.
There will also be a parade, a 5K road race and an antique car show. Not to mention over 12 different varieties of apples to choose from.
Admission is $5 and children under 10 are free.
The Georgia Apple Festival in Ellijay runs October 8th-9th and October 15th-16th, 2022.
Georgia National Fair – Perry
The National Fair is held every October on the Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry. The event has now grown to an 11-day festival (beginning on October 6th in 2022).
There are traditional fair rides, food, livestock, nightly fireworks and lots of concerts to enjoy. The gates are open from 10am to 10pm daily with nonstop activities for all ages.
Oktoberfest – Helen
The city of Helen has the longest running Oktoberfest in the US. In 2021, they are celebrating 50 years of the festival!
In September and October each year, enjoy beer, brats, bands and Lederhosen. Live authentic German music begins 30 minutes after the doors open at the Helen Festhalle.
The event is kid friendly and fun for all ages. Tables are provided so that you may eat and drink while enjoying the shows. The festival kicks off with a parade in downtown on September 11th at noon. The entire town comes to life in celebration with traditional dancing, food and beer.
Helen is one of our favourite mountain getaways, and we enjoy visiting every year, especially for Oktoberfest!
Helen’s Oktoberfest runs Sept 8-11 (Thu – Sun), Sept 15-18 (Thu – Sun), Sept 22-25 (Thu – Sun) & Sept 29-Oct 30 in 2022.
Stone Mountain Pumpkin Festival
From September 17th through Halloween 2022, Stone Mountain Park transforms into a pumpkin festival full of family fun.
During the day you will enjoy special fall entertainment featuring some of you favorite storybook characters. Take a ride around the mountain aboard a full-sized locomotive, enjoy a round a miniature golf, enter a pie eating contest and much more.
The weather is perfect this time of year to be outdoors. After the sun goes down the park transforms into glow by night experience. The nighttime parade and plenty of not-so-spooky glowing experiences bring new light, and a new experience to the park.
